Who or what is Exodus?
Over the years, Exodus has meant different things to different people. We are a dynamic group, spread out across multiple gaming and media platforms with varying interests. Defining us is no easy task, so instead we’ll share some of the history of who we were and what we have done, as well as our current and future goals from a general perspective.
Then
Originally formed in 2008 within PlayStation Home, Exodus was founded by individuals who left high profile clubs such as Team Omega, Illuminati and others to form a small clan devoted to glitching, exploration and exploitation.
“Exodus was formed by 4 friends (CrazyCuban786, CruciA, xXawfultruthXx, and XxTr1n1tYxX) who had an interest of glitching. All sat down and decided a “cool/catchy” name lol. As you can see we decided that this name was interesting. From glitching in US to Japan we shared great moments together and became the closest of friends. Good to bad we were all there for each other and helped out like a happy family. We are not here to compete, disrespect, or brag about anything that we can get done or find. Overall, its just for the enjoyment we share. We’re here to help.”
- CruciA
From the simple goal of seeking fun and pursuing truth (just ask any old school member about methods used to find out information from those who sought to lie to and damage the PSH community!) Exodus became a huge group of people with a multitude of interests, including glitching, game hacks and exploits, general gaming and trophy/accomplishments, game content development, media and software testing/development, media/music production and publication. Despite all these goals and interests, the one thing that remains constant is our team spirit and desire to support each other in our goals and accomplishments.
PSH clubs have a limitation of only 30 members per group. The growing popularity of Exodus made it necessary to open several club houses, which were divvied up into several factions representing different interests, but all under the same philosophy of teamwork and friendship. However, due to conflicts both within the houses and with other outside clubs, Exodus was temporarily abandoned as its members began exploring other interests. In 2009 some members from branched out to other gaming and social media applications, most notably Second Life. There the group established with similar goals of exploring content and gaming development and media application.
Now
In 2010, the resurgance of interest in gliltching and teamwork inspired members to re-establish Exodus in PSH as Exodus Reborn by manson60, SPADERZ216, CruciA and XxTr1n1tYxX. Having learned the harsh lesson of “united we stand, divided we fall,” Exodus remains a smaller and more intimate group of people pursuing their many interests with the support of the team. Similarly, Exodus within SL underwent a similar proccess of downsizing to a smaller, more intimate clan, many of whom work within SL’s club and music industry and/or participate in the BLOODLINES Role Play game, tinker with content creation, sales and publications.
Passionate about music production, CruciA produces electronic music within various genres (including ambient/trance sounds, dubstep and hardcore just to name a few) and utilizes his DJ skills to test his music on audiences in-world. Similarly, Lithium entertains SL residents with music and sets he performs in RL clubs outside the gaming environment. Oportunities for collaboration and exploration among members in this media-rich social application is proving to be useful as members are expanding their audience while refining their skills.
On more of the gaming end of the social spectrum in SL, some members enjoy the role play aspect of the BLOODLINES game. Recognizing that not all members are interested in RP, the Exodus Enchanted horde was established to meet the RP’s clan needs. Dedicated to maintaining a close family/clan environment, members of this small group made “the exodus” from larger groups to enjoy our dark and intimate setting.
Looking Forward
Exo Language
In the interest of readability, I’ve refrained from using “exo language” in the above passages. However, you’ll find throughout this website and across all other applications members use, we have little phrases and words you won’t find in any dictionary. These phrases are little nuances developed by members in jest, for no other reason except we find them humourous.
