Okay, well all jokes aside, someone opened a YouTube account under the name oCruCia and claims to be the real Exodus founder CruciA Static/cruciamentum.

People on YT ignore music copyright all the time and upload without permission, and that’s concerning enough I suppose, but much of the time can be excused under the fair use clause.  What concerns me most in this case, is that this user profile (poorly) attempts to convey that he/she is the real CruciA.  The possibility of future character deformation is what has me most on edge.  On the lighter side, I couldn’t help but laugh at this person’s character assessment.

You can see in the above image, the user cites reference to another user account (both in name and with a link).  Could this be the user’s true YT ID? or a deformation attempt?

I’m working on convincing CruciA to file a complaint for copyright infringement for uploading his music without his permission.  But aside from that, this person also made the mistake of uploading videos which feature a graphic image that I had made.  This image is copyright protected and was licenced to only the real CruciA Static to use.  So needless to say, I filed a complaint.  If the complaint isn’t settled within 14 days I’ll be filing for DCMA takedown as well.

The image was one of my early early (and not so great) works, derived from an image CruciA himself had originally made.  The original was initially uploaded to Second Life by CruciA Static (a.k.a. cruciamentum) on May 4 2010.  The image used in the video was uploaded by me (Trance12 Farquart) to Second Life on May 23 2010.  The screenshot below shows the original date in SL’s database.  Click the image to enlarge it.

Can you say, oops?  Lets just hope Google/YT staff move on this issue quickly.
